Yay Inverter!

Hurray for Canadian Tire! (sort of)

In their recent flyer they had a Grand Opening sale, and one of the items was a 400W Power Inverter. Basically it converts your car"'s 12V socket or from a 12V Car battery into useful

household current for your laptop or pretty much anything else. They normally cost $59, but they were selling them on sale for $19.99.

Arriving at Canadian Tire they had the 400W model for $59! Nowhere did it mention anything about $19.99 but sure enough when I brought it to the till it was on sale. So score uber cheap inverter,

let the endless car-computing begin!

Updated jBlog + Great MacBook Case

I"ve been working away at my blogging system, and it is now much more reliable. Occasionally the Atom feed would crap out and what not, but I"'ve switched the way I store the data

so it should work much better now.

Also, you may have noticed the new photos in the MacBook section. I"'ve made a sweet laptop sleeve for it and it"'s very excellent.

Photo Update

Just in case you're wondering where the new photos are, they're coming! I've been pretty busy working and doing other things, but the snow has fallen here in Edmonton, and I look forward

to taking some pictures in our Winter Wonderland.

I'm hoping for those NiMH Batteries for Christmas that can be charged in 15 minutes, which might encourage me a bit more to go shooting. A

lot of times my batteries are dead when I want to go out, so perhaps that will get the photo-taking desires going again!

I Love Jr. Mints

Something about Jr Mints makes me happy. Perhaps it has something to do with the thoughts back to the days when I was but a wee Prince Jole, going to work with my Dad on the odd occasion,

and walking the long ways down to the vending machines to buy Jr. Mints or nibs. But what's special about Jr. Mints is it's fairly uncommonness, combined with it's very retro styled packaging. It

hasn't really changed since the 80s, and still has that "Degrassi Jr. High Intro" look to it.

Overall, I love them, and am getting addicted to them. I have to stop bringing money to school

so not to be tempted to buy them.

Hurray for Jobs

When asked about the Microsoft’s Zune (competition to the iPod) and it’s new “music sharing” feature, Steve Jobs had this to say:

In a word, no. I’ve seen the demonstrations on the Internet about how you can find another person using a Zune and give them a song they can play three times. It takes forever. By the time you’ve gone through all that, the girl’s got up and left! You’re much better off to take one of your earbuds out and put it in her ear. Then you’re connected with about two feet of headphone cable.

Daggr-Daggr Land!

So finally Daggr-Daggr land is online.

http://daggr.ahtr.net

Basically I have this odd obsession with the word dagger. I've had it

for a while. It's not even that I like daggers, or play games that use daggers (or any games for that matter), it just…sounds cool. So I needed somewhere to go when I typed in dagger into google, so

now there's somewhere.

Visit the page if you're wondering why it's daggr and not dagger

jBlog Official Area!

Oo so yeah I've been working on my own little blogging system, in part for the purpose of learning PHP, in part for the purpose of creating a simple blogging system for one of my

clients.

Now that it's semi-functional, I am using it on jolephoto, and it will be my official testing area. So if the blog doesn't work properly, it's the jBlog beta-ness. If it has some

random features that you're like "whoa" or "what the?" it's the jBlog beta-ness.

Basically just let it be known, that jBlog is beta, and if your Atom reader (ok RSS reader…) is saying

what the heck to my atom feed, let me know so I can find the bug.

And yes, jBlog will be released eventually.

Bogus Solomobile

So….Solomobile used to be cool. It now is not.

Out of the blue they suddenly jack of the prices for sending text messages, which was once their strong point and big

feature, in that it was free.

That came with the fact that Mobile Browser is no longer included. Oh wait? What's that? It is included? No….hmm I couldn't figure it out. Some place it was

marked as included, others not. So I email customer support, easy enough question. Apparently not so. A simple question about whether or not it's included, and I need to send them all my personal

information, and refuse to provide me the answer without it.

I'm deeply saddened by our very pathetic cellular services here in Canada. You would think that with so many companies

that there would be some price competition, but I have yet to see any price changes that weren't upwards. sob.

Joloogle!

Forget Google, use Joloogle! Available now @ http://jole.ahtr.net/archive/joloogle.html!

New Everything-ness!

Hurray! I finally decided to clean this thing up. Again.

You'll notice I made a new splash screen, as the old one was getting a bit out of date. I also freshened up my blog

area….which isn't really a blog at all it's like….k well anyways.

Yeah so this is the real blog now, powered by the one and only jBlog! I wrote it myself and I'm quite proud, it's

pretty sweet, stay tuned for a download (eventually).

Anyways I've been pretty busy with high school and stuff but it's been a beautiful fall, and you'll find lots of pictures of awesome

trees in the gallery.

Happy Autumn!

Cheers,

-jole
